Our Snap & Grow Greenhouse

We bought our Snap & Grow greenhouse shortly after losing all of our summer gardening efforts to a wonderful Colorado hail storm.  The storm produced golf ball size hail that destroyed all of our outdoor gardens, and did over $40,000 damage to our property.

I ordered the greenhouse online at Home Depot for $700 and shipping was free.  After a couple of weeks, the package arrived.  It was a fairly large box, so I placed it in our garage until I could get help setting the greenhouse up.  Setup does require two people.

Here is a link to the assembly manual.

It took approx. 3 – 4 hours to setup the greenhouse.  That did not include the time it took to setup the foundation and prepare to anchor the product.  The greenhouse remained setup in the garage until we could complete those tasks.

We used 12 inch x 12 inch paving stones placed on a semi-level portion of our property to create the foundation.  Once the stones were in place, I attached the base of the green house to the stones with concrete screws.  The final step was to install four tie down anchors 6ft in the dirt on each corner of the greenhouse, and then attach the base to the anchors using steel cable.  Our location requires the extra effort to anchor the greenhouse due to high winds.

Once everything was anchored, the greenhouse was attached to the base.  It was now ready to start moving plants into the structure.
